This image here was taken on Queens drive. This photo is of a street light and therefore that is where the theme of light is coming from in the image. I turned this image black and white and also cropped it. This photo was inspired by one of the photographers I researched called Brassai I really like there photographs style and found them simple but really impressive.

This image here was taken on Queens drive. This photo is of a street light and therefore that is where the theme of light is coming from in the image. I turned this image black and white like the one before but with this image I decided to not crop it as you can also see shadows on the floor from the trees. This is another way of showing light as shadows are light that an object has blocked. This image was again inspired by Brassai.

This photo is taken of the wheel in the city center of Liverpool by the Echo Arena. With this image I wanted to use the curves of the image to create a retro look to the image. The theme of light is shown here from the lights on the wheel and the street lights dotted around the image.

This photo is taken of the wheel in the city center of Liverpool by the Echo Arena. With this image i wanted to merge colour with black and white and I thought of editing. I did this by using the marque tool to select half the image. I then feathered the image to 250 pixels. then selected black and white. The feather allows the black and white to slowly merge into the colour. Again this image was inspired by the photographer Brassai as a lot of their photography is based on city lights at night. This photographer like to turn their images black and white.

This photo is taken of the wheel in the city center of Liverpool by the Echo Arena. With this image I again wanted to make it look like Brassai’s and therefore I changed the image to black and white. I then wanted to do something with the sky and therefore used the paint tool on a small radius and started making dots. This was to make the sky look full of stars and make the image more interesting

This photo here was taken at Liverpool’s water front. In this image I was again following the style of the photograph as the photo is of a street light and I have also turned the image black and white. I also added a vignette on the image to make the image look darker and so that the light stands out more.

Originally this photo was taken of the lake at Sefton Park. Again in this image I have duplicated the image and then transformed in but reducing the size by 95% and then rotating the image 5 degrees. I did this multiple times and then decided to rotate the image back the other way. And again after duplicating many times and rotated the image back the other way. The theme of light is shown here through the bright whiteness of the sun and the image twirls round

Originally this photo was taken of a building at Liverpool’s waterfront. In this image I have duplicated the image and then transformed in but reducing the size by 95% and then rotating the image 5 degrees. I did this multiple times and then decided to rotate the image back the other way. And again after duplicating many times and rotated the image back the other way. This creates a weird pattern effect that looks really different by really cool. The theme of light is shown here was in the spiral you can see the lights of the building going round.

This image was again taken at Sefton Park. I turned this image black and white and decided to add vignette onto it. Adding a vignette makes the image look more mysterious. The theme of light is shown here again through the sun in the trees and the shadows on the ground.

This image was again taken at Sefton Park. I turned this image black and white and decided to add vignette onto it. Adding a vignette makes the image look more mysterious. I made this image darker and made the trees look almost like silhouettes. The theme of light is shown here again through the sun in the trees and the shadows on the ground.

This image was again taken at Sefton Park and the image is taken of the sun shining over the top of two trees. I turned this image black and white and added a vignette. The theme of light is seen here clearly by the sun in the center of the image.

This image of taken of the lake at Sefton Park. With this image I decided to adjust the curves of the image. This creates a retro summery look. The theme of light is seen here from the light from the sun and the reflections off the water.

This image of taken of the lake at Sefton Park. With this image I decided to adjust the curves of the image. This creates a retro summery look. In this image I also decided to use the marque tool to select the middle of the image. I then inverse the selected and feathered to 250 pixels. I then clicked on vibrance and reduced the vibrance of the area selected. This makes the middle of the image look more appealing then therefore its where the eyes automatically go. The theme of light is seen here from the light from the sun and the reflections off the water.

This photograph was taken on Queens Drive. this photo shows a light trail of a cars tail lights. I turned the photo black and white and then masked the light trail so that you would so the red colour of the light. I did this so that the light would stand out.
|
Again this photo was also taken on Queens Drive. I found it easy to take photos of the light trails but found it hard to keep the lines straight as I didn’t have a tripod. This didn’t stop me from wanting to make light trail photos. With this image I again turned it black and white and Masked the light so that the colour would show.

This photo was taken at Sefton park. I thought that the open field surrounded by trees and the light coming through the branches at the top of the trees looked really good. To edit this image I decided to adjust the curves and therefore give the image a sort of retro look.
|
I decided to carry on with this retro look and used it for quite a few of my images such as the one to the left here. This image was again taken at Sefton Park. The theme of light is clearly seen here as the light is shone through the trees onto the grass with shadows off the trees.
|
I again with the retro look with this image here. The retro look give a summery warm feel to them. This image was again taken at Sefton Park. The theme of light is seen here was the light is shone on the grass and has even given the camera some lens flares here.
|
Again I used retro look on the image to the left here. This image was again taken at Sefton Park. The theme of light is seen here as the sun light is being blocked but the clouds passing by and therefore has brightened the clouds and given the trees a silhouette look.

The theme of light is seen here as the light is being shone through the trees and creating shadows on the floor of the trees. The trees again over giving a silhouette style to them due to the suns light.

This image here was taken at Sefton Park. With this image, I rotated it 180 degrees and the went onto filter, distort, polar coordinates. This gives the image a planet type look. The theme of light is being shown in the image from the different colour of sky showing where the sunlight is more prominent. Also the sunlight is being reflected on the water.

This photo was taken at Liverpool’s waterfront. Again I used the Duo-tone technique but this time I used a light yellow and a dark blue. The theme of light is used in this image as the light is coming for the street lights here.

This photo was taken at Liverpool’s waterfront. Again is used the Duo-tone technique but this time I used a light turquoise and purple. The theme of light is shown here as the from the lights coming off the buildings.
